Hi

The email below didn't answer any of the questions in my previous emails. So I'm hoping someone can get back to me and acknowledge my request. Perhaps you could give me a call, on 0424 563 654.

Many thanks. Kat Szuminska

Dear Office of the Attorney General and Minister for Justice,

I emailed you earlier, but have had some trouble with email today, my apologies if you have received two emails on the same subject. Please can you confirm when you receive this email, by email.

For written correspondence as you request, my address is [xxxxxxxxx].

However, I think it rather cumbersome that we may only communicate via post, and so I therefore hope that we may speak on the phone, my number is xxxx xxx xxx, or via email, and conclude any business which requires hard copy of written confirmation and/or signatures via surface mail. This is the way that Federal Govt departments are handling such communications with OpenAustralia, and it seems to work quite well.

I would also appreciate a specific representative from the office to whom I may direct my correspondence in these matters.

Many thanks, Kat Szuminska

Dear Ms Szuminska,

Thank you for your email to the Hon John Hatzistergos MLC, Attorney
General, Minister for Justice and Minister for Industrial Relations.

Unfortunately, our office policy is that a postal address is required
for a direct response.

It would be appreciated if you could provide this detail in order for
your correspondence to be answered.

Subject: Hansard Copyright request

Dear Mr Hatzistergos

I'm writing from OpenAustralia. We are a group of volunteers who run a
website, http://www.openaustralia.org which republishes the Hansard
from Federal Parliament in a user friendly searchable format. We also
support email alerts and rss feeds by keyword.

In future, as well as the Senate and the House of Representatives,
we're also intending to republish the State Parliament Hansards in the
same format, making it even easier for all Australians to have access
to their elected Representatives and be easily informed of
Parliamentary proceedings at all levels.

To that end I'm contacting you as the stated holder of Copyright for
Parliamentary proceedings in NSW. In the first instance, OpenAustralia
seeks permission to republish NSW Parliamentary Hansard at
www.openaustralia.org

Many thanks, Kat Szuminska

received a call last week with update (first week in June). The question will be put to the clerks of both houses soon.

Judith providing a brief for the clerks. There may be issues relating to privilege.
Notes from that call: Hansard published as a proof daily copy. We'd need to accept corrections down the track. Acknowledged that's all fine and no problem to publish proofs.

Evidently Penny Sharpe was going to discuss with the clerks last week. I've written today to Cathy Brown in her office to ask what the outcome was. Given my first request for this to Judith Samogy was April first and my first email on the subject was back in January it's looking rather sad.

An email exchange began to try and set up a date for a meeting with a number of parties on the NSW parliament side. However we have not yet managed to actually have a meeting. Have written to contact there again today. I expect between NSW parl sessions will be likely dates.
